How to Transition from Toxic
Beauty Products to All Natural Beauty Products?

Why all natural make up?

I have mindlessly tried countless make up products that have ruined my skin. Let me first start off by saying that I have battled acne since Mother Nature has entered my early teenage years. I wish I signed a forever kid contract because the only redness I dealt with was the typical Southern California Rudolf the Red nose Reindeer sun burt. Once puberty started my hormones went haywire. The body detoxes multiple ways. Unfortunately my body detoxes through my skin. Lovely. Alright, enough about skin issues! Every girl has them and I hope this post provides you insight about how all natural make up has changed the game and even the composition of my skin.

From what I have read and researched the FDA does not typically regulate the ingredients in our favorite beauty products. I know! I was devastated when Cosmo,my dermatologist, and even google told me the reality of beauty products. I was shocked to read ingredients that I couldn't pronounce on the back of my foundation bottle. First off it was really tough for me to part from my typical products. I get it changing your skin routine is like switching hair dressers. You are comfortable with your beauty regimen and frankly it is a pain to make a CHANGE. Everyone is afraid of change. I get it. But when I changed my skin care routine and slowly transitioned my toxic products to all natural beauty products it was a blessing in disguise.

Why I ultimately transitioned my everyday skincare and make up routine is my skin had enough. I have and I am currently battling cystic acne.I have had cystic acne since I was in 7th grade. I took every drug known to man that "cures" or in my case "solves" the surface of the skin. My Dermo ( who I though had my by best interest) wrote me every topical prescription known to man. I took the Chemo of acne ACUTANE. I am a student of skin. I am learning what works and what doesn't work on my skin.
Here is what I recommend for a smooth transition:

-
Read Ingredient Labels: Look at the areas of your skin that is the most irritated. Even if you are one of those lucky ladies with flawless skin, toxic beauty products age your skin regardless. If you do have acne, the first step is considering your Foundation.

-
Slow but Pro: I am not telling you to dig through your make up and toss out your foundation right this moment. That's not realistic. Research your skin type so you can properly nourish it with the correct products.

-
Trial and Error: The challenge with transitioning our staple beauty products is finding alternative products that supplement your old favorites. I have had to part ways with some of my old products. It was easier once I understood that my favorite beauty products contributed to my cystic acne.

-
Patience: Remember you are and have always beautiful. Acne sucks :( I have been insecure about my skin problems for a long time, but I have not let it define me. I am learning how to treat my skin naturally through health, nutrition, and natural beauty products.
