Another great festive activity is "The Christmas Alphabet Tree!" This lesson plan emphasizes: Art and Literacy. What I love about this lesson plan is that not only are you allowing your children to learn the alphabet, but also we are teaching them the importance of lowercase and capital letters.

MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES NEEDED:
1. Colored Card Stock
2.Colored dot Stickers (big enough to write on)Color coordinated lowercase letters
3. Sharpie
4. Pen
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. The child will learn the difference between lower and upper case letters.
2. The child will be able to pair the Upper Case Letter with the matching Lower Case Letter
3. 90 % of the children will know and memorize 10-15 letters of the alphabet.
ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Draw a Pine Tree Shape for each child in sharpie pen, then let the child practice using their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination with the scissor.
2. Once the Christmas Tree is cut out, write out all of the capitol letters randomly over the tree.
3. Using the color coordinated stickers, positively facilitate the child's ability to pair the lower case letter with the uppercase letters.
